Anonymous opponents of Fiji's interim administration have failed in their call to public servants to stay away from work yesterday to demonstrate their protest.

The call was made by someone who described himself as Fijian Black who went on overseas radio stations to urge workers to stay away.

But the chief executive of the Fiji public service commission, Taina Tagicakibau, says the civil service was not affected at all.

She says the commission staff contacted all government ministries and departments but found civil servants at work us usual.

The chairman of the commission, Rishi Ram, says there were no unusual absences.
