Almost a month after rejecting her appointment, the House of Representatives in American Samoa has voted unanimously to confirm Dr. Claire Tuia Poumele as the director of the Department of Education.
Ms Poumele's nomination was kept alive in the House via a motion for reconsideration made immediately after she failed to muster 11 votes during the first confirmation vote in January.
The Senate had already given Ms Poumele its endorsement in a unanimous vote in he middle of last month.
