A rugged opening round of rugby's Super 14 has ended with the Blues and Highlanders the only New Zealand sides to start with wins.
The Blues started their competition with 34-25 home win against the defending champions the Crusaders at Eden Park.
John Mitchell's Australian Western Force were unlucky losing 8-7 to the Highlanders.
The ACT Brumbies beat the Chiefs 21-15 in Hamiltion, while the Queensland Reds defeated the Hurricanes 25-16 in Brisbane and the New South Wales Waratahs beat the Lions 25-16in Johannesburg.
In an all South African affair, the Cheetahs beat the Stormers 27-9 in Bloemfontein.
