One of Fiji's few freehold islands has been put on sale for 75-million US dollars.
The Fiji Times reports that the island is Vatuvara in the eastern Lau Group.
A spokesperson for the agents, Cheyenne Morrison of Australia, has told the newspaper the owner of the island wants his identity to be kept secret.
But it is known that the owner is of Japanese nationality and lives in the United States.
Ms Morrison says the sale is not related to the introduction of the Qoliqoli and the Land Claims Tribunal bills
Any such sale would require the consent of Fiji's minister for lands.
