Former Australian international Jim Dymock has been appointed as coach of Tonga for the rugby league World Cup qualifying games against the Cook Islands, Fiji and Samoa.
Dymock, who was a member of Australia's World Cup-winning team of 1995, spent four years with the London Broncos before hanging up his boots and turning to coaching two years ago.
Before that he played in Australia with the Bulldogs, Magpies and Eels.
The Pacific qualifying group matches get under way in Sydney next Friday but Tonga's clash with Samoa will also form part of a double header on the opening day of the Federation Shield at Leeds on Sunday, October 22.
Hull's new signing Hutch Maiava is set to make his debut for Samoa, who will be captained by Newcastle Knights centre George Carmont and coached by John Ackland.
