West Papuan guerrillas meet in PNG with plans for a more unified struggle for independence

Papuan resistance commanders and their representatives from all six commands of the West Papuan National Army, or TPN, are today meeting in Madang, Papua New Guinea.

This meeting is part of efforts by the West Papua Coalition for National Liberation to bring together all resistance groups in the Indonesian province under one umbrella organisation.

The TPN commanders are meeting to discuss unifying their command structure and to affirm their commitment to support Papua as a land of peace.

The commanders and their representatives have pledged to continue their struggle for a free West Papua through non-violent means.

Commanders and their representatives from Biak, Sorong, Manokwari, Wamena, Paniai, Fak Fak, and the northern and southern border regions are all present at the meeting.
