Solomon Islands expects to earn around US$2 million from copra exports this year.
Commodities Export Marketing Authority, CEMA, says the country earned more than US$490,000 from copra exports in the first three months of the year.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports that the country produced more copra in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year.
Figures released by CEMA in its quarterly statistical report show the country produced 22,400 tonnes in the first ten months.
This was 1,700 tonnes higher than the total production made over the same period last year.
The report says the total production for the whole of last year was 22,700 tons.
CEMA says this year's total production is expected to surpass this to 26,000 tonnes by the end of December.
