Solomon Islands prime minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, has named three new cabinet ministers who will be sworn in this afternoon.

Johnson Koli has been named as the new health minister, replacing Benjamin Una, who resigned yesterday after appearing in court to answer charges over the alleged theft of money granted for a development project in his constituency.

Two other ministers who were sacked yesterday after failing to attend a session of parliament have also been replaced.

Bernard Ghiro is replaced as Minister of Infrastructure by Alfred Sasako and Stephen Paeni, the minister of mining is replaced by Frank Pule.
