Taiwan has called for "determined leadership" both at the national, provincial and community level in Solomon Islands if the country is going to be prosperous.
Taiwan's Ambassador to Solomon Islands, Antonio Chen, made the call in a statement during the Solomon Islands Government-Development Partners Consultative Meeting.
Mr Chen says a prosperous economy, is dependent upon a few fundamental elements such as political stability, law and order, leadership, and labour and natural resources.
He says Solomon Islands is fortunate to be endowed with rich natural resources.
Mr Chen says there must be determined leadership, from national down to provincial and community level, which is fully committed to economic reform.
He says there also must be reform of the ownership and the use of customary land for economic development to safeguard the mutual interests of landowners and developers.
