8:18 am on 13 August 2005

Striking public servants in Tonga are said to be seeking an emergency court injunction against an official order to break up their camp.

The online news service Matangi Tonga reports the legal adviser to the interim Public Service Association, Clive Edwards, is hoping to get an injunction from Chief Justice Robin Webster.

Police evicted strikers yesterday from the Pangai Si'i park in the capital, Nuku'alofa, where thousands of public servants had gathered.
