One of American Samoa's canneries has announced the appointment of its first ever local general manager.
Star Kist Samoa has chosen Brett Butler, who is 34, to replace Phil Thirkel who is retiring in June after seven years as General Manager.
Mr Butler graduated top of his class at Samoana High School.
Mr Butler has headed the cannery's Supply Chain Department for several years.
Star Kist has 2,900 employees and is the largest private employer in the territory.
