Police in Solomon Islands' Western Province are beefing up security ahead of the Prime Minister Sir Allan Kemakeza's visit to the provincial capital, Gizo.

Officer Commanding, John Rove says that with the expected influx of people to Gizo, the provincial police will use every possible resource available to ensure that the week is safe, not only for the P.M., but also residents and visitors.

Gizo town is gearing up to host the Western Leader's Summit starting tomorrow.

Meanwhile, with the Governor General also touring parts of the province, some police officers will be dispatched to Ranonga and Simbo Islands.
