Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister has accused his opponents of using the media to keep up a climate of instability in the country.
Sir Michael Somare last night dismissed the Opposition's chances in a vote of no confidence.
Several government ministers were understood to be at an opposition gathering in Alotau outside Port Moresby but there's been no confirmation of any resignations, as had been rumoured earlier.
But, our correspondent, Peter Niesi, says it's not clear how any vote may go.
"The signal he is giving is that he seems secure in his numbers but of course if there is visible confirmation of the two Cabinet Ministers down in Alotau and there's one Vice-Minister, the question is how many more might move in the next 24 hours."
