An alert for a possible mobilization has been issued to the remainder of the 793rd Engineer Utilities Detachment of the American Samoa Army Reserve.
The local battalion which already has about 40 members deployed in Iraq has been told to prepare its people and equipment for possible deployment.
The alert may not result in actual deployment but in the event that it does, some sixty American Samoa soldiers will be affected.
