A senior Solomon Islands police officer with links to the former Malaita Eagle Force militia has pleaded guilty to six charges, including three counts of assault.
Police superintendent James Kili pleaded guilty to three unrelated assault charges, and one count each of intimidation, malicious damage and threatening violence with a firearm.
As part of a plea-bargaining agreement the prosecution dropped three charges of receiving stolen goods, one of intimidation and one of discharging a firearm.
Kili, who had previously pleaded not guilty to all the charges, was remanded in custody to appear in court again on January the 27th.
Meanwhile, a former commander of the Isatabu Freedom Movement, George Grey, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with assault.
