Prime Minister Sir Allen Kemakeza says the Solomons Government has not received a demand from ex-militants for compensation amounting to 300 million Solomon Islands dollars.

Earlier this week Oppositon MP, Alfred Sasako, said the militants had sent a letter to the Cabinet saying they were guaranteed the money by the Townsville Peace Agreement.

He said around 2000 ex militants want payouts of 150 thousand Solomon Island dollars each.

But, the Prime Minister Sir Allen Kemakeza says no such claim has been received by Cabinet.

Last month the Ministry of Reconciliation, Peace, and Unity announced the Government would no longer consider any claims for compensation and that instead it would focus its efforts on rehabilitation.
