American Samoa's Homeland Security Advisor hopes the attention the territory is receiving over its security alerts will help efforts to get more funding.
The Attorney General, Fiti Sunia, has issued a new security alert that says Pago Pago will no longer issue entry permits to people from Fiji and 23 other countries without his specific approval.
The new alert comes amid controversy over a policy announced in August banning the entry into the Territory of people of Middle Eastern descent.
Security Advisor, Leiataua Birdsall Alailima, hopes the publicity generated by the security alerts will draw attention to how easily terrorists can use unprotected parts of the US as entry points.
