The strike by staff at the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority is now on hold after the announcement they will return to the negotiating table with management this afternoon.
Nearly 700 staff at customs posts throughout Fiji are back on the job after striking in demand for a thirty percent pay rise.
With the meeting set to get underway about now, staff representative Seru Aisake says according to the records and documents they have, they can substantiate their right to a pay rise.
"We are adamant that we'll get it,..we've worked under duress for the last four years, but we still have given the government and the people of Fiji their due full shares of revenue that they're suppose to get, even over and above the forecast figures."
Seru Aisake says that if their demand is not met, they will resume the strike.
