A United States federal judge in Los Angeles has issued a temporary injunction on a law that only allows US citizens, not US nationals, to apply for positions as federal airport security screeners.
The civil suit was filed by nine plaintiffs, including one from American Samoa, who were employed by airports in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Provisions to amend the federal act to allow US nationals to apply for such jobs is pending in the US Congress.
