American Samoa governor subpoenaed to appear in Daewoosa Samoa trial

American Samoa Governor, Tauese Samoa, has been subpoenaed to appear in Honolulu during the trial of Daewoosa Samoa owner, Kil Soo Lee, scheduled to begin on October 22nd.

Also subpoenaed by the defence were the Governor's legal counsel, Henry Kappel, Attorney-general, Fiti Sunia, and Lt Governor, Togiola Tulafono.

Togiola was attorney for Daewoosa when the company was planning to set up a garment factory in 1992.

He and his wife were board members of the company but both stepped down in 1996 when Togiloa became Lt. Governor.
