People thinking of voting more than once in Vanuatu's elections being held later this week, have been given a blunt warning by the country's electoral office.
The office, which has already confiscated a number of electoral ID cards from people who have registered more than once, says fraudsters are liable for fines of up to one thousand US dollars and/or five years jail.
The acting Deputy Princpal Electoral Officer, Tom Alec Kalo, says they also have a new monitoring system in place.
He says this is in addition to the painting of a semi permanent ink on the voters' thumb.
Police officers will be posted at every polling station and will be able to make immediate arrests.
