The International Congress for Fiji Indians says it hopes its appeal for cyclone victims on Vanua Levu will raise about 30-thousand US dollars.
Its Australian-based director-general, Govind Sami, says the organisation has helpers in place in Labasa.
"The group that is assessing the situation will then recommend to us who should be receiving the donations. And we have appointed some contact people in there and on their recommendation they will be able to purchase these goods from those supermarkets. We have already approved three thousand dollars worth of things to be given out to the needy."
