Tortillas

Ingredients

  • 415 ml masa harina
  • 265 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

In a medium bowl combine the masa harina, salt and water to form a dough, knead the dough until smooth.

Turn dough out onto a clean bench if the dough is to wet add some more masa harina if to dry add a touch more water until dough is pliable.

Roll the dough into equal sized balls and press each ball flat to about 4mm thickness between two round sheets of plastic using a rolling pin, tortilla press or just your hand.

Cook tortillas on a pre heated frying pan for 30 seconds on each side then stack them on top of each other and wrap in a tea towel to stay warm.
