RNZ Concert audience update

From Upbeat, 5:00 pm on 18 June 2021

Dear RNZ Concert audience,

We are always looking at ways to improve the experience we offer you, our valued listeners. This may be by refreshing what we do, letting you know about events coming up on the RNZ Concert calendar or sharing news about our talented broadcasting team.

This is the first in an occasional series intended to keep you up-to-date with what’s happening at RNZ Concert.

News on RNZ Concert

Starting Monday 21 June we will be fine-tuning our news bulletins a little. This will improve the consistency of the news and weather information we provide across the week.

There are two changes to the news schedule for Concert:

  • We will no longer carry a Saturday 7am bulletin, bringing it into line with Sunday.
  • We are adding a 5pm bulletin on Saturday and Sunday.

NZ’s most comprehensive news and current affairs is available hourly on RNZ National and all the time on the RNZ website

Live Music coming your way

We have just finished recording a range of wonderful performances at the Wellington Jazz Festival for broadcast in coming months.

Next the team is heading to Christchurch to capture the National Concerto Competition. The final will be broadcast on RNZ Concert on Thursday 24 June at 1pm in OnStage.

Presentation

Bryan Crump will be joining our presentation team from time to time. The RNZ National Nights presenter is a classical music (and beyond) fan and a chorister and has agreed to present the occasional show on Concert to help when others are away. Bryan’s first show will be this Sunday afternoon 20 June. Welcome Bryan.

Thank you for listening,

The RNZ Concert team.
