Music for Study

From Upbeat, 8:40 am on 11 November 2019

Right now students around the country are studying for exams. We've chosen them some music to calm the nerves, focus the mind and motivate the unmotivated!

Research suggests that while listening to music (even classical music!) may not make you smarter, it can influence your mood so that you work better.

Music can relax you and lower your stress levels. Background music can improve focus, provide motivation and aid endurance. Calm, instrumental music is best. Because that's our specialty here at RNZ Concert, we've made this playlist for anyone who is studying, or needs to relax.

We'll play one of these pieces at 8:40 am each weekday morning during Daybreak on RNZ Concert, or have a listen here:

Nocturne in Bb by Ignacy Paderewski

Adagio from Ravel's Piano Concerto in G

Einaudi: African Melody

Max Richter: On the Nature of Daylight

Nils Frahm: Ambre

Schubert: Notturno in E-flat
