Jazz musician James Paul is co-founder (with Tim Booth) of Black Sand Music Retreats in Whanganui which aims to connect hobbyist musicians.
Participants get tuition, play with professional musicians and, at the end of the retreat, record their work.
James talked with Bryan Crump about the musical retreat concept and how it came about.
