The NZSO presents two contrasting works from American composer John Adams.
'Short Ride in A Fast Machine' is an exhilarating fantasy, with the orchestra speeding through nuanced changes in the harmonic landscape.
'Shaker Loops' is a piece of great minimalist architecture – a single idea exploded to encompass lightness and darkness, detail and expansiveness, wrapped in music that simply thrills.
