Auckland composer Alex Taylor's tribute to Pierre Boulez, whose music he describes as "some of the most sensual and fluid in the repertoire". Performed by Stephen De Pledge.

Alex Taylor writes: “Boulez is still regarded in some quarters with suspicion and distaste, perhaps because of his often prickly and cerebral public persona. But his music is some of the most sensual and fluid in the repertoire, and he was a master of gesture and inflection. This tribute uses Boulez’s own resources – pitch material from Le Marteau sans Maître and the alternating formal structure of [the first] of his Notations – to juxtapose two facets of an enigmatic composer.”
