NZTrio's "Magnifique" programme features Camille Saint-Saëns' Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor as the centerpiece of a diverse musical evening. Violinist Amalia Hall and pianist Somi Kim are joined by cellist Matthias Balzat at the Auckland Town Hall Concert Chamber for a performance that spans from French Romantic elegance to contemporary New Zealand landscapes. The concert opens with Franz Schubert's Notturno in E-flat, written in the final year of the composer's life.

The ensemble navigates a wide emotional spectrum, moving from the intense Episodi e canto perpetuo by Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks to the oscillating energy of Linda Dallimore’s Self Portrait, a work inspired by life in Los Angeles. NZTrio concludes the main programme with the triumph of the Saint-Saëns trio before offering an encore of The Swan.
