  • 1 x supermarket sponge
  • 1 x packet of custard
  • cream
  • masala or some liquor of your fancy
  • strong coffee
  • grated chocolate

Dry out sponge in advance as it will absorb the liquid better.

Make a small amount of VERY strong coffee. Add masala (or liquor of your choice, and sweeten, if using regular liquor).

Grate chocolate into custard.

In coffee cups or in bowls, or a big bowl, layer thin-ish layers of sponge, thoroughly sprinkled with liquer coffee, alternating with chocolate custard, finishing with sponge. Cover with cling film and sit in fridge for 12 - 24 hours.

Top with whipped cream and grated/shaved chocolate.
