Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar

Use only ripe, juicy strawberries for this, and aged balsamic vinegar - not cheap artificial stuff.

Ready in 30 minutes
(Serves 4)


  • 500g (about 4 cups, loosely packed) strawberries, hulled
  • 3 Tbsp sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar


If the strawberries are large, slice them in half. Place them in a glass or china bowl and sprinkle over the sugar. Toss well, cover and chill for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until a light syrup has formed.

Stir through the balsamic vinegar and serve immediately.
