Roasted Plums with Hazelnut Sablés and Vanilla Ice Cream

10:00 pm on 8 March 2004

  • 6 ripe red plums
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Place the stoned and halved plums in a shallow roasting pan with water. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon and bake at 200º C for 30 minutes or so until the fruit is soft and starting to crisp on the edges.

Remove plums from oven and let cool slightly.

Arrange three plum halves with two hazelnut sablés and a scoop of "gourmet" bought vanilla ice cream or home made vanilla ice cream on a serving plate and distribute any pan juices.
