Radish Pickles

  • 2 bunches of red radishes (small)
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 medium sized fresh chillies (sliced)
  • 2 Tbsp white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp chopped ginger
  • dash of brandy
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard seeds


Wash radishes in cold water and slice thinly.

Place all the other ingredients in a pot and bring to the boil, and allow to cool.

Add sliced radishes and leave to steep for a minimum of 5 hours, preferably a couple of days.

Remove from liquid to serve.
