Polar Cake

Ingredients

Dough

  • 350 gr. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 12 spoons of coca cola
  • 200 gr. wheat flour (self rising)
  • baking powder
  • 1 spoon of cocoa

Cream

  • 500 ml. milk
  • 3 spoonful of custard powder
  • 10 spoons of sugar
  • 250 gr. butter or margarine

Icing

  • 150 gr. margarine
  • 2 spoons of cocoa

Syrup

  • boiled and cooled water
  • vanilla essence

Method

Dough

Beat the yolks with 200 gr. of sugar until they become foam, then gradually add the 12 tablespoons of coca cola. Add sifted flour, cocoa and baking powder.

Beat the egg white with 150 gr. of sugar until become a hard foam and mix with a spoon with the above composition. Bake at about 190 degrees C.

Cream

Dissolve the pudding in a little milk and boil the remaining milk with the sugar. When boiling, add pudding. Boil at small fire a strong pudding, stirring continuously. Beat the butter / margarine until become foam and mix with cold pudding (pudding gradually added).

Put a syrup from water and vanilla on the dough. The cream is spread evenly over crust. Allow a few hours in the refrigerator to harden the cream (otherwise it's hard to spread the icing).

Icing

The margarine is beaten with cocoa, then is spread with a knife over the pudding.
