Bread Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 250g flour
  • 150g fine semolina
  • 4 slices thick toasted bread
  • 200ml warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp dry yeast with 1 tsp. sugar and 50ml tepid water

Method

Dissolve yeast mixture. Cut toasted bread into small croutons.

Mix milk, eggs and salt. Add yeast mix and mixture of flour and semolina until dough is smooth and makes bubbles and doesn’t stick to the bowl. Mix in croutons.

Leave this dough in warm place to rise for 1 to 2 hrs.

Divide into 2 parts and form oblong shape.
Place into salted boiling water, cook for 20 minutes , turning after 10 minutes.

Cut with string into  1-1 ½ cm slices.

Served with roast pork, all kinds of creamy sauces or vegetable sauce.
