From the collecton Remembering Marti Friedlander

(From Nine to Noon, Thursday 8 March 2001)

Marti Friedlander has worked as an independent photographer arriving in Auckland in 1958 at the age of 30.

She now has a reputation as one of New Zealand's pre-eminent portrait photographers, and alongside that, her work is often seen to capture the essence of "New Zealand-ness".

Marti talks to Kim Hill about her work and life.
