Burglars made a spectacular entrance during the museums opening with a truck equipped with a ladder into the Apollo Gallery to steal several priceless jewels, according to initial statements from the French Minister of Culture.

    Dozens of detectives have been on the trail of four thieves who used a cherry-picker truck and cutting gear to break into the museum, then fled with precious jewellery.
