Breakers beat Perth

6:16 am on 21 October 2010

American import guard Kevin Braswell inspired the New Zealand Breakers to a remarkable come-from-behind 96-94 victory over the defending Australian National Basketball League champion Perth Wildcats at the North Shore Event Centre.

The Breakers led for just 39 seconds before the final change, with an aggressive and determined Perth outfit in control for almost the entire match, except when it counted.

Perth led by as many 13.

Braswell knocked down 21 points to instigate his team's revival, he was supported by Thomas Abercrombie and CJ Bruton, who each had 17 points.

The win made it two from two to start the season after the Breakers toppled the reintroduced Sydney Kings 83-70 last week, while championship-favourite Perth fell to a second loss.
