The NBL basketball champion Perth Wildcats have taken out the pre-season challenge tournament in Darwin, sending an ominous signal to the rest of the league after defeating the Cairns Taipans 72-52 in the final.
The Wildcats went 3-0 in the tournament and remain undefeated in the pre-season with a perfect 9-0 record.
The New Zealand Breakers reversed their last loss against Wollongong, taking out third place by taking down the Hawks 72-64 in the playoffs.
