Coach Peter Miskimmin has secured the services of the Auckland striker Simon Child for the Junior Black Sticks Men, who will play Australia in three tests in December in Brisbane.
The tests double as qualification matches for next year's Junior World Cup, althought two Oceania spots are confirmed so both teams qualify regardless of results.
Child, who's 20, has 87 tests caps and plays for the top Dutch club, Rotterdam.
He'\s also is one of five finalists for the World Junior Player of the Year.
The only other member of the team with senior experience is Central striker Nick Wilson.
The rest of the squad is: Marcus Child, Devon Manchester, Arun Panchia (Auckland), Joseph Bartholomew (North Harbour), Ricky Clark, Ian Daniel, Tom Lysaght (Midlands), Callum Bailey (Central), Blair Hilton, Steve Jenness, Alex Shaw (Wellington), Richard Bain, George Connell. Issac Staples (Canterbury), Hugo Inglisand Nick Ross (Southern).
