Northern Ireland's former US Open golf champion Graeme McDowell retained his French Open title this morning by one shot after the American Kevin Stadler missed a two-foot putt on the final hole.
McDowell teed off 8 shots behind Stadler who stumbled through miserable conditions to post a 76, handing McDowell his 10th European tour victory, which should confirm his place in this year's European Ryder Cup team to play the United States.
