Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder has been named the National Basketball Association's Most Valuable Player for the 2013-14 season.

It's Durant's first MVP award in his seven-year career after leading the Thunder to the Northwest Division title and the NBA playoffs with a regular season scoring average of 32 points, and he topped 40 points in 17 games.

Miami Heat's LeBron James, MVP in four of the last five seasons, finished a distant second in the voting.
