New Zealand shot putter Valerie Adams has finished her 2013 season with another big win in Europe, this time at a meeting in Berlin.
The double Olympic Champion threw 20.58 metres on her final effort to finish ahead of the world number two Christina Schwanitz from Germany on 19.43 and Alena Kopets from Belarus with 18.00m.
Adams series underlined her consistency this year with all 6 of her throws over 20 metres.
The competition completed Adam's absolute dominance of the event in 2013, retaining her world title for the fourth consecutive championship, and winning the Diamond League shot put title again.
The victory at the iconic German meeting in front of 55,000 fans was her 13th for 2013 and takes her unbeaten run to 42 competitions, since August 2010.
Adams says it's been a great year and she's loved every minute of it.
She says she's looked forward to a break now and getting home and spending some time with her family and friends and being back on kiwi soil.
Adams will holiday before arriving back in New Zealand in mid-September.
