The England Rugby coach Stuart Lancaster says he'd love for Wayne Smith to be a part of his new coaching setup.
The recent All Black assistant coach met with Lancaster in South Africa recently about being involved with their three-Test summer tour of the Republic.
That series takes place during a break in the Super Rugby season, but Lancaster wants Smith involved full-time once he wraps up this year's commitments as the assistant coach with Super Rugby side the Chiefs.
Lancaster says Smith is a part of his vision for the future of the side and Smith would slot in perfectly as a backs coach.
Lancaster says he received a positive response from Smith, who's a coach of the highest regard and credibility.
Smith says he's given himself 10 days to make a decision. He has an out clause in his contract with the Chiefs.
