Mixed results in wool sale

Results were mixed at Thursday's South Island wool sale.

Prices for some wool types fell from last week's North Island auction but exporter Wool Services International says demand was steady and three quarters of the more than 10,000 bales on offer were sold.

Merino fleece and some mid micron fleece sold for up to 4% less.

Prices also eased for most of the cross-bred fleece and shears on offer.

But prices rose for the finer and stronger ends of the mid micron offering and for fine cross-bred shears.
