Progressive Enterprises is facing accusations it is trying to bully Parliament's commerce select committee.
The supermarket company is already facing allegations of anti-competitive behaviour.
Lawyers for the company - which owns Countdown supermarkets - have written to the Commerce select committee demanding that it provide all evidence related to the committee's investigation into allegations of misconduct by the supermarket chain in New Zealand.
The committee is due to meet on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the letter.
While the letter refers to an inquiry by the committee, in fact it is not investigating the matter.
The Labour Party's commerce spokesperson, Clayton Cosgrove, says the letter is at best menacing and at worst at attempt at intimidation.
