Auckland police are interviewing a man after an attack on a sex worker followed by a hit and run incident involving a second woman in the early hours of Friday morning.
The police say a 43-year-old sex worker was the victim of a serious assault on Ponsonby Rd near Western Park at about 4.30am.
A short time later a 36-year-old woman was hit by a car on the road.
Police found a vehicle in nearby Herne Bay that they believe may be linked, and were speaking with a 23-year-old man on Friday.
The assault victim is in a comfortable condition in hospital, and the hit and run victim has a serious leg injury.
