Four people were injured, one of them critically, when a car crashed into a group of cyclists in the Auckland suburb of St Heliers on Saturday morning.
The police say it appears that a driver hit the group from the side while making a right-hand turn into Tamaki Drive.
Inspector Willy Taylor says that there were about 20 cyclists in the group. One of them is in hospital with serious head injuries; his condition is described as critical but stable. The other three were treated for moderate injuries, including a broken collarbone.
The police say the driver of the car has been spoken to, but by late Saturday afternoon no charges had been laid .
