Bad weather disrupts domestic flights

6:57 pm on 30 August 2009

Air New Zealand says bad weather making its way up the South Island is behind a series of disruptions to its domestic flights.

Flights out of Wellington headed for Invercargill, Nelson, Christchurch, and Blenheim have all experienced delays of up to an hour, with flights into Napier and Gisborne also affected.

Air New Zealand says rain and high winds have caused delays throughout the day, and the backlog's expected to be cleared by 8pm on Sunday.
