Straitjacket Fits guitarist and songwriter Andrew Brough has died.

Fans and musicians have paid tribute to Brough, who also played in bands Bike and the Blue Meanies,

Brough was part of the Straitjacket Fits with Shayne Carter, drummer John Collie and bass player David Wood, formed in the mid 1980s in Dunedin. After writing the hit single 'Down in Splendour', he left the band after a US tour in the early 1990s.
